Today, we are off to La Rochelle and perhaps Poitiers to see where my eighth great-grandfather, Jean deJarnat, was born (La Rochelle) and lived before he left France after the Edict of Nantes was revolved. As a Huegenot, he fled persecution and headed to Virginia. (If you want, you can read a little more at http://www.dejarnett.net/aboutme.htm.) It is possible that one of his great grandfathers was Marc de Jarno, who was mayor of Poitiers. More later! ~v
