July 5th

Today has dawned with a fog that is beginning to dissipate with the sun.

Dan and I are still responding to some weird internal alarm clock, but it is with the knowledge of a nap in our futures, so all is well.

Last night, we celebrated America's independence with local fare: a sparkling red wine, two kinds of sausages, white beans grown in the region, bread (of course), more wine (of course), a plum tart, and Slymon's apple eau de vie. This morning, we are headed to the market at Clisson, which is south of Nantes.
