Ya know, grading papers is the same, wherever you are. It's full of "Where in the hell did s/he get that?", "Really????", and "Beam me up, Scotty... I'm in trouble." But I do have to say that while I am whinging, I am in France, whinging... which does not suck.
I have only 11 students in my class this summer, and I've graded 10 of the 11 final papers. Grades are not due until 10 AM CDT tomorrow, which is 5 PM here, so I believe it's time for aperitif. Grading can wait.
(One might think that Vicki's students would benefit from the frame of mind that comes with sitting here in the Rotunda, having coffee and watching the day unfold while she grades. But judging from the comments, I wouldn't bet on it!
Gabi, Vicki and Teresa are all currently teaching, and Reginald and I are both recovering educators, so education is a frequent topic of discussion around here. The Powers That Be - at the UofM, the University of Western Bohemia, or on the national level - should just turn education policy over to us, because we have it all figured out. - Dan)
Update: I was finished on Monday morning by 9:30 AM. I nearly strained my shoulder, patting myself on the back.
